MISSION:
The Ipswich High School gay-straight alliance seeks to promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity in sexual orientation, and to break down gender stereotypes by educating the student and faculty body. Our goal is to increase awareness of the hardships faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, and to highlight what can be done to alleviate these hardships. We seek to empower the students and address the isolation of LGBT youth, while addressing the concerns of students who are questioning their sexuality, by creating a place of support, respect, pride, and safety for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender members of the IHS community. |
